What is a Canadian canoe?
It is a boat that can carry 1-3 people and is rowed with a single-bladed paddle. It originated from its use by Native Americans in North America.
It was mainly used by Canadian Native Americans to travel on lakes and ponds, so it was named "Canadian canoe".
The Canadian canoe is more stable than a kayak and can be safely enjoyed in points that cannot be approached from land and in mountain streams, so it is highly recommended for people who want to relax and enjoy the scenery.

All passengers paddle in unison, moving slowly across the lake surrounded by nature. Once you get used to the controls, you'll be able to feel the speed of gliding across the lake and move in the direction you want. ◆It is very crowded during the Obon period in August and on Saturday afternoons.

●Outdoor experience activities are sports that are performed in nature, so they are not necessarily safe. Please understand this before participating.
●Our outdoor activities are covered by facility liability insurance, but the liability insurance covers mistakes made by the guide in operation or equipment malfunctions. Injuries and accidents caused by personal actions are not covered. For example, if you get on or off a rafting boat, or fall while walking in a river, or if you fall while canyoning while moving through a river or walking along a mountain path.
●Injury insurance
In cases where liability insurance is not applicable, we recommend that you take out injury insurance.
If you have already taken out injury insurance, that's fine, but if you haven't, you can pay on the spot. We offer injury insurance with a 200 yen one-time premium, 2,200 yen for outpatient treatment, 3,300 yen for hospitalization, and up to 3 million yen for major injuries. (This is entirely optional.)

・If coming by car: 15 minutes from Minakami I.C. on the Kanetsu Expressway.
・If coming by train: Free pick-up service available from JR Minakami Station or Jomo-Kogen Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen.

■Canoe

◇Canoe experience (Canadian canoe) precautions
・Please note that pregnant women, those who are not in good health, those who have drunk alcohol on the day, and those who are hungover will be refused the tour on the day. Please note that if you are unable to participate in the tour for the above reasons, a cancellation fee will be charged.
・In the unlikely event that a participant is injured, our guides are fully trained in rescue training and first aid training.
・The tour will be held rain or shine. However, if the lake water level rises and the situation becomes dangerous, the guide may cancel the tour at his/her discretion.

[Regarding children's participation]
・Elementary school students and above can participate.

◆Guide standards
Outdoor tours in Minakami Town are governed by the Outdoor Tourism Ordinance, which sets regulations and standards, and the Outdoor Association, a general incorporated association, has been established, which sets even stricter standards and regulations.
Our guides have passed these tests, and all outdoor tours are accompanied by Rescue 3 and Medical First Aid certified personnel, so you can participate with peace of mind.

◆Insurance details
All tours include facility attendant liability insurance (coverage up to 300 million yen per person per accident).
Accidents and injuries caused by personal actions are not covered, so we recommend that you take out personal injury insurance.
Customers who have not taken out insurance in advance can take out this insurance on the day at our company, with a non-refundable premium.

Depending on weather conditions or circumstances on the tour day, the guide may determine that the tour is unsafe and cancel it. Please be aware of this in advance.
